- Purpose
- The purpose of the course is to provide the students with extendet skills to research, process and disseminate source materiale on Faroese history in the 18th and 19th centuries.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student shall be able to: • Have knowledge of the source material on Faroese history that exists from the period, and of ways to process and disseminate the source material. • Be able to find and organize relevant source material for a problem and present assessments of the source value. • be able to interpret independently, decide on sources and use them to bring out parts of the reality of the past. • Possess skills to convey acquired knowledge in writing and orally and to identify and document relevant questions in connection with the use of the source material. • Possess skills to reflect on own learning and professional development.
- Content
- The teaching includes analogue and digital source material from the period and a review of empirical material about the period. Knowledge skills practice and skills awareness are also parts of the course, which include topics that can support a continuing determination process for acquiring academic skills.
- Learning and teaching approaches
- The course is based on a combination of lectures, student presentation, seminars and group work. During the course, students are required to complete a set number of assignments, which will be determined by the supervisor.
