Academic content
- Purpose
- The objective of this course is to learn the basic skills needed to design and create interactive web applications.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course, the student should know and understand: - Design and programming of dynamic Web-based applications - Common markup languages, web Servers, and databases - Connections to databases - Scripting languages and scripting technologies, client-side and server-side scripting - Client-web server interactions and database transactions and be able to: - Create simple dynamic web-based applications
- Content
- Principles, methods, and tools for programming interactive web systems. Frontend and backend development, various markup languages (HTML, XML, and JSON), scripting languages (JavaScript and alternatives), web services, web servers, and relational databases.
- Learning and teaching approaches
- Lectures, exercises and two written assignments are to be delivered for each part of the course. These assignments must be delivered on time and approved in order to be eligible for an oral examination in this course.

- Oral examination with preparation time. Students with approved exercises will be listed for an oral examination. - Please note, the required written assignments must be submitted on time and approved in order to be eligible to register for the exam.
