Academic content
- Purpose
- The aim of the course is for the student to understand the importance of Organizational development. The course gives the student an understanding of and basic skills to handle and lead the various phases of an organizational development process, i.e. design, implementation and evaluation.
- Learning outcomes
- When the course has been completed, the student must be able to: • Apply research and knowledge about organizational development. • Explain, analyze and assess the importance of organizational development. • Get staff to understand WHY organizational development is necessary. • Explain how you work in practice with Organizational Intervention (OI), i.e. develop, implement and evaluate an OI, also in a Faroese context. • Explains the various professional concepts and phenomena that are linked to the development of modern organizations, such as capacity building, i.e. management initiatives that cause employees to thrive and develop, and in this way improve the organization's ability to achieve its goals. • Understand theory about the learning organization and show in practice how to lead a learning public - as well as private organization. • Handle and understand possible resistance among employees in an organizational development process.

- • Different theories (classical and modern) and research in connection with Organizational Development • Organizational Intervention (OI) • Co-creative organizational development • The learning organization (LO) • Capacity building • The manager's relational skills in relation to employees • Follow-up and/or resistance in an organizational development process

- Lecture, guest lecture, group work, discussion, presentation from students, as well as self-study.
