Language of instruction
The course is taught in Faroese. Instructional materials are in Scandinavian Languages. Group work, presentations etc. are in Faroese.
Registration
Students on the third and fourth academic year of Bachelor of Education in Pedagogical Development apply for specialised subjects via Moodle. Applicants for an individual course may apply via the Faculty of Education Office by sending an email to NAD@setur.fo, if there are available places.

Academic content
Purpose
The purpose of this course is that the students get versatile and distinguished knowledge about the work in the reception of children from pre-school to primary-school and time-leisure-centers based on theory and pedagogical work. The students will also learn to work with school readiness, the work in early primary schools and time-leisure-centers.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, students should be able to: • Critically describe, what distinguishes the work of school preparation, the work of primary school and time-leisure-centers. · Interpret and discuss the pedagogical responsibility in the transition, the work in early primary school and the work of time-leisure-centers, from a professional, didactical, and theoretical basis. · Distinguish and interpret the formal and informal practice in early primary school and time-leisure-centers. · Intertwine and reflect on fundamental theories about play, learning and development regarding pre-school and the transition from pre-school to primary school/time-leisure-centers in a professional discussion. · Didactical prepare, carry out, evaluate, and reflect on pedagogical praxis and intertwine and distinguish theory and professionalism with praxis.

Learning and teaching approaches
