Academic content
Purpose
The purpose is to enable students to work with nature-related questions and the interaction between humans and nature.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student must be able to: - Prepare and conduct motivating and inspiring teaching in nature and technology according to the current curriculum, as well as assess and evaluate this teaching. - Describe and discuss a chosen geographical perspective in selected teaching subjects. - Discuss disciplinary and didactic aspects of organising and implementing natural science teaching. - Evaluate the possibilities and limitations of teaching N&T (Nature and Technology).
Content
The purpose is to enable students to work with nature-related questions and the interaction between humans and nature. Content The course is divided into five main parts: Local Area: Geology, nature and environment The world around us – the Nordic countries and Europe: Weather, climate, climate zones and space Human interaction with nature: Climate change, conservation, and renewable energy Science and technology: Cartography and topographic maps Teaching natural sciences: Limitations and possibilities in disciplinary and educational contexts, various modes of operation and reasoning, student-centred teaching and diverse teaching methods, and relevant teaching materials
Learning and teaching approaches
The instructor uses teaching methods and exercises that aim to enable students to create lesson plans and assess and evaluate them. Emphasis is placed on ensuring that learning processes encompass various learning activities such as teacher presentations, field trips, various types of group work, and finding and creating digital materials. Collectively, these approaches aim to prepare students to teach effectively in the geography component of the school subject, Nature and Technology.

Assessment method
The exam is based on an oral presentation. In their presentation, students will discuss a lesson plan for the middle school level. (The exam will be described in a separate document).
