The course is taught in Faroese. The textbook is in Danish, and other instructional materials are in Danish, and Faroese. Group work, presentations etc. are in Faroese.
Registration
Students on the third and fourth academic year of Bachelor of Education in Pedagogical Development apply for specialised subjects via Moodle. Applicants for an individual course may apply via the Faculty of Education Office by sending an email to NAD@setur.fo, if there are available places.

Academic content
Purpose
The student will get knowledge about special and social pedagogic in a broad sense and of the need of this in the society. He will also get an insight into physological and pedaogical theories and litterature, which leaves its mark on the social and pedagogical work. In addition, the purpose is also for the student to be consious about attitude and own role and influence in the profession and collaboration.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to: • Explain and analyze fundamental theories in special and social pedagogic matters • Show, which importance professional attitude, mode of expression and co-operation has in special and social pedagogic and use it in groupwork and exercises • Analyze the importance of attachment, well-being and communication for the individual and groups in a special and social pedagogic sense • Show insight into which circumstances the pedagogue has to be consious about and have knowledge about in this context
