- Participants must hold a master’s degree. The course is for researchers engaged in research-related writing, regardless of research area: humanities, social or natural sciences. Prior to the course, participants submit samples of their own writing, which will be included in the course material.

Academic content
- Purpose
- The course aims to enhance participants’ ability to write academic research-related manuscripts effectively and comply with academic publishers’ quality criteria for linguistic style and content.
- Learning outcomes
- On completion of the course, students can demonstrate ability to: • Write in stylistically correct English for academic research-based writing • Analyse and revise an academic text in accordance with the conventions of academic writing • Use appropriate rhetorical and grammatical constructions in their writing • Participate in collaborative writing and editing by using constructive feedback techniques • Manage their writing process
- Content
- The course comprises the following topics: • Stylistic and structure-based conventions of each section of academic articles • Feedback on writing and for revising manuscripts • Style rules on grammar and vocabulary • Rhetorical tools for building argumentation • Approaches and strategies for managing a writing project
- Learning and teaching approaches
- The course includes lectures, group work, writing and feedback exercises and self-study. Students work on revising their own texts.
